We bow our heads at the passing of another professor this semester. Today the Chapman community was notified of professor Ronald Rotunda’s unexpected death. He passed away by way of complications resulting from pneumonia. We send our condolences to his family and friends in this time of sorrow.
Professor Rotunda was the Doy & Dee Henley Chair, a Distinguished Professor of Jurisprudence at Chapman, and a beloved educator at the Fowler School of Law. Having joined our faculty in 2008, Professor Rotunda made a great impact on his students by using his experience with the practice of law, and as a senior instructor, to provide meaningful and informative lectures. He served as a special prosecutor during the Clinton Administration, and also was one of the investigators who worked on the Watergate scandal.
As we look to the future of our campus, we mourn Rotunda’s sudden death and the loss of other professors so far this year.
